    hudetama

Gudetama is a popular Sanrio character known for its lazy and unmotivated personality. Designed as a small, anthropomorphic egg yolk, Gudetama often appears lounging on or wrapped in its egg white, expressing exhaustion and reluctance to do anything. The character's name is derived from the Japanese words gude gude (meaning lazy or lacking energy) and tamago (meaning egg). Despite its lethargy, Gudetama has gained a massive following worldwide due to its relatable, humorous outlook on life, often seen sighing, complaining, or simply lying down in various food-inspired settings. Its appeal lies in its ability to capture the universal feeling of wanting to do nothing, making it a lovable and oddly inspiring character for fans who appreciate its laid-back, carefree attitude.

    BIG CHALLENGE

Big challenge character from the Hello Kitty universe that's an alligator is Picke Bicke. Unlike many of Sanrio's more popular, cute, and widely recognized characters, Picke Bicke—a small green alligator—has struggled to gain the same level of fame. One of the biggest challenges is that alligators are often associated with toughness rather than the soft, friendly aesthetic that defines Hello Kitty and her friends. This makes it harder for Picke Bicke to fit seamlessly into Sanrio's typically adorable branding. Additionally, the character has not been heavily promoted or featured in major merchandise lines, limiting its recognition among fans. While some niche audiences appreciate Picke Bicke's unique design, the challenge remains in making an alligator character as commercially successful as the brand's more traditionally cute mascots like My Melody or Cinnamoroll.
